So, we've had a few emails about the low FM audio on the new Moonraker Atlas, asking if there is an easy fix.
Well you can buy a programming lead and connect the radio to your computer to adjust the audio levels for sure but there is an easier way.
You can enter the FM Modulation menu which is built into the radio.
YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK
MAKING ADJUSTMENTS IN HIDDEN MENUS COULD MESS UP YOUR RADIO!
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED ON THE MOONRAKER ATLAS
AND MAY NOT WORK ON OTHER MODELS
Press and hold the BAND button when turning on the radio and you should be presented with this:
Use the channel change to cycle through the levels (1/2/3), then press and hold the POWER BUTTON to confirm - These levels adjust the FM deviation/bandwidth and therefore increase the outgoing audio.
I don't have any test equipment so maybe someone who has will be able to confirm but it appears that:
Level 1 = 1.5khz deviation
Level 2 = 2.0khz deviation
Level 3 = 3.0khz deviation
You will still need a programming lead and software to make the AM audio better but this is a simple way to improve the FM audio.
