Anytone AT6666 Pro 15m Band Modification

How to add the 15m band to your Anytone AT6666 Pro!

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Note the radio comes out of the box locked to the 10m Ham Band, you will need to hold the MEM + BAND buttons when turning on the radio, select HFBAND, then press and hold FUNC until the radio resets. This puts the radio into export mode and it will cover 10/11/12m. Follow this video to further add 15m to the radio.

You will find that the output power is lower on the 15m band, probably around 30-40w PEP.

Anytone AT6666 Pro - New Firmware Ver102 (Beta)

Spotted on the Anytone AT6666 Pro Facebook Page is a new firmware for the radio. This firmware aims to fix an issue where some users found the Hi-SWR warning prevented transmissions even when the SWR was fine. This appears to happen when the radio is used mobile, and is not present when the radio is used from a home base.

Please be aware that the firmware is currently in BETA TESTING so you might wish to wait for the proper final release on the Anytone website.

Also this firmware adds NO NEW FEATURES so I'd suggest that you only update your radio if you have the Hi-SWR issue.

Australia to Legalise FM on 27Mhz CB Radio and more....

Video:YouTube/Ham Radio DX

So it looks like Australia will be joining the ever growing list of countries which allow the use of FM on 27Mhz CB Radio... (Who would have thought that when the UK legalised FM in 1981 that we would end up being way ahead of our time!)

Other proposals include the ability to connect CB radios to the internet for the purpose of VoIP applications.

Special Event: 50 Years of CB Radio in Germany

From our radio friends in Germany:

On the 1st July 1975 CB radio (Citizens Band) was officially released in Germany. Back then it started on a few channels and with very limited power. For the first time, the CB radio offered private individuals the opportunity to use radios without an amateur radio license - for leisure, hobby, but also for practical purposes such as communication in traffic or at events.

Over the decades, CB radio evolved further - new frequencies were added, the permitted output power was increased, AM, FM and later SSB modes were allowed. Today, CB radio is not as ubiquitous as it used to be, but it still has an active community.

From 1st July until 7th July 2025 on channel 31 FM (27.315) a radio week commemorating the 50th anniversary will take place. Everyone is invited to listen in, join in, and celebrate the anniversary of German CB radio together!
