President Ronald 10/12 @ Nevada Soon!

So Nevada have become the first UK seller to take pre-orders for the new President Ronald 10/12m radio.

Priced at £179.95 it certainly isn't cheap. The US price is $139 which equates to £105 (YES you read that correctly!!!)

But even if we forget about the price we do have to ask who is actually going to buy this radio?

If you're a HAM Radio operator why would you want an AM/FM radio for 12m? I don't think I've ever heard AM/FM transmissions on 12m. 

Yes AM and FM modes are used on 10m for sure when conditions are good but we are heading towards the bottom of the solar cycle and 10m is very quiet at the moment.

I get the feeling that this radio, along with many other '10m Ham Radios' is actually aimed at CB radio users, but once again why would a CB user want to spend that much money on an AM/FM only radio when they can get many other SSB and higher powered radios for less money? (Anytone 5555, CRT 9900 etc) 

On the face of it this seems to be a radio without a clear target consumer. I'm sure it will be a great radio but will it sell more than a handful of units outside of the US? I guess we will wait and see.
